you can trust me to get excitable when i stumble on an article like this, nothing gets my blood boiling than reading about a pastor taking advantage of his position in church and helping himself to its finances. This particular story relates to the pastor of KICC (Mathew Ashimolowo)
I sent the newslink to other Nigerians with the hope that maybe, just maybe people will open their eyes and spend their hard earned money on their families,friends,relations,community members etc rather than paying for the lavish lifestyles of their pastors. Our people are suffering and struggling and in the midst of such poverty we have things like this happening.
To be honest how Ashimolowo runs his church is his own business, its the people who are blinded and can not think for themselves and have more or less swapped one superstition for another that baffles me. They sell people the message they want to hear and they fall for it hook, line and sinker. Prosperity for all, but all i see is the pastor living large while the congregation struggles. Like Fela sang 'Archbishop na miliki, pope na enjoyment, imau na gbaladun..."
Africans lets us not buy into this bullshit, we need to hold all accountable, our politicians, religious leaders, community leaders etc. people can not continue to use 'wayo' to hold us down. We need to help ourselves and our people by committing to charitable projects in our communities not spending our hard earned pounds, dollars, euros, naira (or whatever currency you are into) to fund the lavish lifestyles of our pastors.

Thanks for sharing your view with other fellow Africans particularly Nigerians. It is really appalling the way this so called prosperity pastors are taking advantage of the vulnerable people, I classified some of the donors as vulnerable not in the sense that they are at disadvantage but in the sense that they fall into tricks of the so called Prosperity Pastors with the right word to blindfold them. I was a member of KICC, I was committed genuinely to the things of God, but it come to a stage when I began to doubt some of the so called Pastors integrity having listened to so many repeated lies and inconsistent information, I am not rebellious or been used by the Devil as claimed by some of the congregation when you question something you know is not right, some members will actually tagged you as the enemy of the gospel. I can't just imagine why People cannot think for themselves. This are the same people who deserted their Country because Corruption was at its highest level to seek refuge in a Civilised Country where no one is above the law and where things are done properly, However, my people still think they are back home where corruption is at its high level and where any means of raising money can be justified with all the sweet talking and packaged programmes, at the end of the day we all know who is benefiting. When the Charity came in to correct the corrupt regime of siphoning money into pastors various private company accounts and other malpractices which is becoming the order of the day, members cannot be bothered to reason except to blame their ordeal on Racism and that they are been persecuted because they are black Church. Church People cannot be bothered to read the Charity Commission's report except to listen to their Pastors defence script to convince his members how he is so important to the British Society that they choose to persecute him for having the biggest Church in Europe. What a shame;
It is time for our People to get their act together and start putting their house in order. All these Pastors need to ask for forgiveness. I am sure the God I am serving is a faithful God and his judgement shall come upon us in its chosen time.
